CHRIST CENTERED
Capstone Treatment Center is a Christian residential treatment program that was founded on faith and clinical excellence. In 2001 we started in the Hickmon family home with a mission to provide life-changing treatment for young men in a Christ-Centered environment. We believe God has placed us in this role for a purpose; To make a difference in the lives of young men by equipping them with the therapeutic tools necessary to work through the hurt that brought them to us. We’ve worked with thousands of young men and their families from every corner of the U.S. and beyond.
You should not have to choose between a quality treatment program or your beliefs.
Many Christian parents do not pursue professional help for their children because they don’t want a treatment or therapy experience that could possibly undermine their faith.
Capstone Treatment Center is a Christian residential treatment program that was established so families don’t have to compromise. We provide a world-class treatment experience in a Christ-Centered environment – utilizing our evidence-based clinical approach to assist your son with the struggles that are keeping him from progressing.

We are a family owned, Christ-Centered Residential Treatment Center carrying out our founder’s vision that turned his family home into a place of healing.
Some parents want the Christian atmosphere so badly that they send their child to a camp or program with genuine Christian people and a strong spiritual emphasis, only to regret their decision because their level of expertise in doing effective clinical treatment on their child’s struggle is poor. There is no substitute for experience.
Like many professions, there are opportunities to pursue additional education and training. The extent of training a youth minister, camp counselor, pastor or other support role provides will be inadequate in helping your son address significant mental health struggles or compulsive behaviors. When it comes to pursuing an option like residential treatment, you are past the trial phase. You have exhausted your options and need expert help in dealing with the issue at hand.
Capstone provides the most robust training program for therapists in the country. All of our therapists receive training in Adrian Hickmon’s Core Systems Model, Multiple Trauma Training Modalities, Certified Sexual Addiction Training, Brainspotting, Safe & Sound Protocol, Trauma Research Foundation Training, EMDR, Internal Family Systems Informed and more to ensure we are equipped to work with a wide variety of concerns. See Our Team.
You deserve a program that has proven results working with the difficulties you are facing. The right therapy approach matters. We provide our team with the appropriate training so your family can experience healing.
You may have tried differing parenting approaches, weekly counseling, meetings with ministers or family mentors, attended another Christian residential treatment center or outpatient program, medication changes, switching schools, all in an effort to find a solution. You are not alone.

We accept clients where they are in their beliefs, from atheist to devout Christian, and work to cultivate spiritual growth through truths that will stand on their own without faith, including honesty, purity, humility, self-control and more. Many parents express concern that their son is struggling and that they have distanced themselves from their faith and their family. We know some of these young men have experienced hurts within a church setting that have damaged their view of faith. Our spiritual groups on Sundays incorporate Christian principles into lessons these young men can apply to their own walks of faith.
We believe God has placed us in this role for a purpose. We want to make a difference in the lives of these young men and help give them the therapeutic tools to work through the hurt that brought them to us in the first place. We’ve worked with thousands of young men and their families from every corner of the U.S. and beyond.
At the core of every person, we long to be fully known and fully loved by someone. At the heart of Capstone’s approach: “Every person is made in the image of God to love and to be loved at a core-to-core depth of intimacy with God, self, family and friends while using their unique gifts for a meaningful purpose.” We see every young man who walks through our doors as a child of God who deserves to have someone in their corner. Your son is not a defect. He is not just a disorder, diagnosis, or a label. Our desire is to see every young man who enters our program flourish and leave our care with tools that will equip him and his family for a lifetime.
If our work at Capstone meets the level of need you and your family are seeking, we hope to be the first step on your path to healing.
Below are our core values at Capstone that foster our culture, define our mission, and direct our purpose as we help families in the toughest battlegrounds they face. Every employee at Capstone is held to the standards detailed below in our core values which shape our team culture and treatment environment.
Core Values

Christ-Centered
We believe that each human being was created by God with an innate longing to love and be loved back by God, themselves, their families, and their friends. With our faith at the center of who we are and what we do, we live out this calling for core-to-core intimacy in every aspect of our lives. Our deepest desire is that our clients and their families would come to see the truth of how much God loves and values them through their relationship with us.
Jesus replied, “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.” (Matthew 22:37)

Open and Honest
Each member of our team holds themselves to a high standard of personal integrity. By continually doing our own work, we have nothing to hide about who we are or what we stand for. We aim to have every interaction be straightforward and authentic, both among our team and with our clients, and we strive for each member of the team to exemplify the humility of spirit necessary for this level of open communication.
We live in such a way that no one will stumble because of us, and no one will find fault with our ministry. (2 Corinthians 6:3)

United Front
Because of our unified mission, we have a team-first approach that focuses on collaborative effort to get the job done. Every member of the team is willing to do any task on campus, from unclogging toilets to cleaning out dog kennels, if it is for the good of the team and will aid our clients in pursuing their healing. We understand that each member of the team has a different role, but we humble ourselves and put the needs of the team and the clients first.
Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. (Philippians 2:3)

Relational
Because of our understanding of core-to-core intimacy, we take seriously our responsibility to engage in and model healthy relationships. We are exposed daily to circumstances and situations that others would avoid, and we lovingly and passionately choose to engage those situations with empathy and understanding. We exemplify the tenacity and the tenderness of the Lion and the Lamb aspects of the nature of Christ.
God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. (John 3:17)

Grit
No one works harder for their clients than Capstone Treatment Center. We pride ourselves on our relentless dedication to the families that we serve. Each employee displays a willingness and adaptability to do any task, no matter how big or small, for our clients. We are deeply committed to our mission and will never stop fighting for healing for each Capstone family, no matter the circumstances.
Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. (Colossians 3:23)

Discernment
We are on the front lines of the battle, and we encounter difficult circumstances daily. We lean heavily on the wisdom and experience of every member of our team to utilize sound judgment and solid decision-making to handle each unique challenge in a way that prioritizes safety and produces positive outcomes for our clients. We recognize when a situation is bigger than our ability to handle on our own, and we do not hesitate to ask for help when needed.
Look, I am sending you out as sheep among wolves. So be as shrewd as snakes and harmless as doves. (Matthew 10:16)
